Dr. Sunday Olorunsheyi

In 2012, Wisdom Ezekiel and I co-founded Pertinence as local land sellers. We had one staff member and a rented office in Akowonjo, Lagos. I had trained as a scientist at Lagos State University and learned marketing before I ever built a company. We started from zero.

What moved us forward was not luck. Wealth is not accidental; it is engineered through systems. We built ours one lesson at a time, with people who believed in the work, because for us it has always been about people. By its tenth year, Pertinence reported 80 estate locations across seven Nigerian states.

Not every lesson was a win. When Wisdom and I wrote The Pertinence Way, we recorded our failures as honestly as our successes.

In 2019 I started Leverage, a leadership and mentorship forum, because I want to help raise globally relevant people. By 2024 it had reached its sixth edition.

I kept studying while building: an MBA, a Canadian postgraduate certificate, a doctorate and a Fellowship of the Institute of Management Consultants (Nigeria). Today I chair PettySave Microfinance Bank. Wisdom and I co-founded SettleQuick, which grew out of my own experience of relocating, and I lead it as CEO. I am a director of three Canadian federal companies and a dual citizen of Nigeria and Canada, building across Lagos and Toronto. In 2024 the National Institute of Credit Administration named me Entrepreneur of the Year for Business Expansion and Consolidation.

My proudest moments belong to other people. When two leaders developed within Pertinence left to build their own company, I called it a Pertinence success story, and I meant every word.

In February 2026, Wisdom and I led a 28-day live money challenge, the Smart Money Reset. Those nights confirmed something: people rarely lack motivation. What they lack is a system, a group that shows up and a rhythm that survives the hard weeks.

So when I asked myself what to do with everything I have learned, the answer was the word I have used since 2019: leverage. Leverage Mentorship hands you the lever: the systems, the frameworks and the honest lessons, with a pod of about twenty people beside you for twelve months, online, wherever you are.
